Acting credits include work with the Theater Guild of the (Panama) Canal Zone, the Corral Theater and the Pueblo Players in Tucson, Arizona, and with the University of Arizona. He also directed plays for the Arlington Masquers, which he founded in Arlington, Texas and he collaborated with the Drama Department at Texas Christian University to produce Cat On a Hot Tin Roof for the directors Masters Thesis (1968). He produced and directed Lazarillo: The Story of a Rogue, which he adapted from a 16th century novella for the South Central Renaissance Conference at the University of Texas at Arlington.
A former musician (Juilliard Institute of Music), he arranged and wrote music in Elizabethan style for a University of Arizona production of As You Like It, and "Prologue to No Exit," a woodwind quintet performed and recorded by the University of Texas at Arlington's Woodwind Ensemble.
He also wrote or produced numerous Industrial training videos, training leaders' guides, and audio programs. He had been an active member of the American Society for Training and Development (Past President, St. Louis Chapter), Institute for Management Consultants, Society of Human Resource Development, and Regional Commerce and Growth Association (Past Chairperson of major small business committee subcommittees).
Don was the author of several two act and one act plays. One of his two acts Family Fugue was premiered by First Run last summer. Three of his plays were entered in the competition this year, two one acts and Yo Yo Kids. Yo Yo Kids was given readings in June of 2004 at the RAC Building and December 2005 in Columbia MO. Don passed away two weeks later. Yo Yo Kids was produced postumously in May of 2006.
