Directed by Patty Ulrich
Original Music by Tim Garcia

The time is 1936 in St. Louis when the Great Depression is just starting to turn around. Hannah owns a run down hotel with her husband, a drunken invalid. To make ends meet she has ladies “work” at the hotel servicing customers. She is in the midst of renovating the hotel for perceived better times to come, with the help of her ‘Okie’ cousin Jake and his brother Seth. She is also 8 months pregnant. She faces a crisis when her ner’er-do-well son Daniel arranges a “session” for a young friend, Robert. It is a play about hope, survival, and secrets

“Williams is an experienced playwright, and Late Afternoon is a solid piece of work. … Late Afternoon is a quite satisfying and enjoyable piece of theatre…” – Bob Wilcox KDHX
