The Healing of Joey Padowaski
A two-act play by Mario Farwell
June 4 - 13 2010
Directed by Vanessa Roman
Original Music by Jerry Rabushka
Joey Padowaski is a young Black man who received the power of healing - a power he never wanted - after a near-death experience on Lake Champlain. His one constant companion, aside from the hordes of people clamoring for his "service," is a voice in his head. This "voice" is very real to Joey, and represented on stage by a Caucasian male. Joey is surrounded by people who offer him advice on how to use this power... some for their own benefit but not necessarily for Joey's own good.
“..highly charged dialogue..” “This play makes you think… this is drama at its most visceral” Gary Scott KDHX
